Larry Smith was installed as the Pastor of Belmont Baptist Church's on November 19, 2019. . Prior to that, he served as Associate Minister at Calvary Baptist Church, overseeing the Pastoral Counseling program. 

Pastor Larry believes that God is a God of consistency and order, not a God of chaos and confusion. He believes that we can dream the impossible dream, walk the impossible walk, and achieve the impossible goal with God as our dream maker. The attributes that best describe Pastor Larry as a pastor are strong preaching, leadership development and counseling. He has expressed a burning desire to lead a church like Belmont Baptist Church where biblical views are embraced and encouraged, with members who care about the needs of those around them and who want to connect others to the body of Christ.

A native of Akron, IL, Pastor Larry Smith was licensed by Dr. Reverend James  "Bubba" Pugh at Calvary Virginia Beach Church and was ordained by the Bridge Network of Churches in Norfolk, Virginia. Not only a graduate of Liberty University Baptist Theological Seminary with an MA in Pastoral Counseling, he also has a Masters of Business Administration degree from University of Phoenix. 

Pastor Smith served his country in the United States Navy for 30 years and retired with honorable and faithful service. He gives God the glory, honor, and praise for protecting and watching over him during his military service career. 

Pastor Smith has been married to his bride, Chin Sun for over 40 years.  They have three children, Shirley, Wendy, and Raymond.
